As active members of TIMCON, we were pleased to attend the Annual General Meeting held in October. The event brought together key organisations from across the timber, pallet, and packaging sectors to discuss current trends, emerging challenges, and future opportunities for the industry.
The AGM included an insightful presentation from AI Compass, exploring how artificial intelligence is set to influence the pallet and packaging sector in the coming years. Topics covered included automation of repetitive administrative and operational tasks such as pallet design, improved customer engagement tools, real-time analytics on performance and logistics, and the potential for AI to support the development of new business models.
Delegates also received an update on developments within the Irish timber market, including Ireland’s Build with Wood initiative, as well as an overview of PEFC’s expanding certification options.
The meeting concluded with a networking dinner hosted at the Institute of Directors on Pall Mall, offering a valuable opportunity to connect with colleagues across the industry.
